A Closer Look At The Ford Taurus, Then & Now

Back in 1986, the Ford Taurus hit dealership lot. Since then, this vehicle has become one of the best selling sedans in North America, and without a doubt one of Ford's staple cars.

When the original Taurus was released back in 80's it wasn't a boxy hunk of metal, but a light, fiberglass curvy masterpeice, which influenced many other car companies to rethink vehicle design. Since Taurus launched through 2007, Ford has…

Ford Working to Design New Cost Friendly Fusion Hybrid

Ford is working on a new hybrid powertrain for their Ford Fusion, as well as the C-Max concept. Reports state this engine will gain in miles per gallon output, while costing less. How is that even possible?

Future models coming to Superior Ford in Siloam Springs will include this engine, that (according to the auto maker) "will cost 30 percent less."1

New Color Options for Upcoming Models

Ford researchers have revealed that car buyers have strong color preferences and would go to a different dealership if they couldn't get a car in their color of choice. While the most popular car colors remain white, black, silver and gray, Ford is increasing their color palette this year with choices like Ginger Ale, Kodiak Brown and even an icy-green color called Frosted Glass.

Ford actually spends a lot of time on color, using…

Ford SYNC System Now Features Text-Reading Software

Ford has designed a way for drivers to receive text massages and drive at the same time. The most recent (free) update to the Ford SYNC software features Message Access Profile (MAP) streams and reads incoming texts out loud, allowing the driver to keep both hands on the wheel and both eyes on the road.

The technologically-advanced SYNC, G1 V3.2.2, works with Gen-1 equipped Ford models from the 2011 and 2012 model years…

Ford Racing Reveals the Focus ST-R

Ford redesigned the new Focus with, well, a keen focus on fuel economy. The SE trim with the SFE Package delivers up to 40 mpg highway. However, Ford Racing saw behind the Focus sedan's conservative ways and tweaked it for the track. The result: an all-new Ford Focus ST-R racer.

Of course, Ford Racing saw the Frankfurt Motor Show as the premier opportunity to introduce its speedy new Ford Focus ST-R racer. Fast, nimble…

Ford Hits 55 MPG With the Focus ECOnetic

Scan the cars available in the market today and you'll quickly see 40 miles per hour (mph) is about as good as it gets for a standard petrol or diesel...a bit over 40, for a hybrid. But you know, Ford just loves to break barriers. And, that's exactly what they've done with their new Ford Focus model. In the name of good sportsmanship (ahem, showing up their competitors), they've made…

Ford Bids Farewell to CD Players

It's hard to grasp the fact the CDs are actually becoming an outdated technology, but Ford's latest initiative more than proves it. Just like how floppy discs gave way to optical drives, the CD players in cars are now giving way to streaming technologies, like those found in the Ford Sync system. That is why we here at Superior Ford are not overly worried about the American automaker's choice to eventually discontinue…
